Gauteng: Head Office (2)

Finance Department: Finance Manager

Finance Accountant – Head Office

Main Responsibilites:

  • Daily cash flow management and forecasting
  • Manages petty cash and reimbursement and ensure processing of journals to relevant cost centres
  • Captures, validate and process payments for supplier invoices and daily orders on four banking systems
  • Reconciles bank statements for the Group and Liaise with the banks as required
  • Cash counting and banking of cash/cheques received
  • Review accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and correctness, and payments are processed timeously
  • Balancing stock received from all suppliers to supplier statements
  • Reconciling stock received, to ensure all stock has been receipted and invoiced accordingly
  • Daily and Monthly stock reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end processing and deadlines.
  • Processes monthly journals as required, ensure that the journals are accurate, complete and contain adequate supporting documentation required to ensure that only correct information is processed
  • Preparing monthly pricing and margins calculations
  • Full fixed asset function for the Group of companies
  • Balancing and raising inter-company transactions
  • GL/balance sheet reconciliations
  • VAT calculations, submissions and payments for the group on e-filing ensuring that all items are valid and have supporting documentation, ensure adherence to deadlines
  • Attending to Vat audits, and resolving all queries with SARS
  • PAYE submissions and payments on e-filing
  • Comply with internal and external financial policies, standards and controls whilst understanding the impact of own role on other areas
  • Work with the business to drive, improve and enhance controls, documentation and control framework
  • Assist in the preparation of supporting documentation for all statutory returns and tax returns
  • Assign, monitor and coordinate work assigned to members of the finance team
  • Monitor adherence to policies and procedures on regular basis
  • Ensure filing of historical information and supporting documentation is up to date and logically presented.
  • Compile income statement for depot, to determine profitability
  • Assist with year-end audit queries, inter-departmental queries as well as ad-hoc duties on third party transactions.
  • Assist financial managers with budgeting and forecasting for the group
  • Assist in completing monthly financial reports and adhering to deadlines
  • Assisting with internal and external audits, and compiling financial statements
  • Assistant to the Financial Manager/ Reporting directly to the Financial Manager
  • Assist Financial Manager with daily tasks, where required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant diploma/degree

Finance Department: Finance Intern

Finance Intern – Head Office

Main Responsibilites:

  • Shadowing members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties.
  • Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
  • Preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents.
  • Working with accounting systems.
  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Learning how to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyse data, track information, and support the company or clients.
  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a recent graduate or actively working towards a bachelor’s or Diploma in Finance.
  • Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
  • Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible

Required Experience:

  • 0-1-year experience in Finance
